About the Role
At Winnors Remote Staff, we are looking for a meticulous and reliable Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the accounting needs of our Canadian clients, ensuring financial accuracy, and helping with tax-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and track fixed assets, calculate depreciation, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Maintain and balance financial records using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
- Oversee general ledgers and prepare accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Post journal entries and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare tax returns, trial balances, and detailed financial and statistical reports.
- Monitor cash flow and bank account activities, performing regular reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and accurate invoicing.
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Support audits by preparing documentation and providing requested data to auditors.
- Develop and implement efficient bookkeeping procedures to improve accuracy and productivity.
- Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend solutions to resolve them.
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams regarding financial matters.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements.
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices.
Qualifications
- ACCA or CA part Qualified or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Prior experience of working with Canadian Accounting Consultants/Accounting firms.
- Completion of post-secondary education in Accounting, Accounting Technology, or Bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Windows).
- Hands-on experience in using accounting softwares such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, FreshBooks, or Wave to manage.
- Strong reconciliation skills and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail while managing repetitive tasks under tight deadlines.
- Ability to handle overtime work when necessary.
